Playa Romance was part of the Camp Crafty Camp sculpture garden at Playa del Fuego, a regional Burning Man event in 2026.

The Anglerfish had a bloody Ken head as bait. It looked great at night, when it was the brightest light in the area. Poor Ken, always the side character, even in lawn art. We had a journal where people could write what happened. There were lots of references for Ken being sacrificed by the girls. I loved the names people came up with for the girls: Sapphic Queens, Butterfly Princesses, and Bicycle Bitches.

Just because the girls saw the bait does not mean they were victims. One of the things I love about Burner girls is their resilience, power, and determination. Maybe the Anglerfish was really an art car, and these sparkle ponies got a free ride back to camp?

You can see that this Burner babe did a nice job decorating her bike. She even has the tennis ball on the kickstand to stop the bike from sinking into the playa.

The sculpture held up well in the rain, which is an important aspect of Burner art. It needs to be able to withstand the elements.

This art was exhibited in Camp Crafty Camp, which gifts DIY wire statue kits so people can make their own sculpture of a burner man or woman. The goal here is to get people crafting.
